Description
Fiber glass made replica Tulip Dining Chair designed by Eero Saarinen in 1956. This item is a high quality replica but not an original which is sold under license by Knoll, and originally designed by Eero Saarinen.

The Tulip Chair (padded) is a soft piece that creates a relaxing and soothing environment inside the home. Inspired by the iconic piece from Eero Saarinen, this model contains all of the aesthetic value of the original with a modern construction method that allows for greater durability and lasting value.

First developed in 1956, the Tulip Chair was meant solely as a counterpart to the matching dining table. This version of the Tulip Chair (padded) does away with the hard, angular seat surface of the original in lieu of a more comfortable padded bottom.

The seat cushion is available in various colours, all of which have been chosen specifically to match the eggshell white of the chair's resin fibreglass frame.

At the time, the Tulip chair was extremely experimental, using “space-age” materials and design concepts for a result that nobody had yet seen. Eero Saarinen used this very piece to break new ground in the modernist furniture community, and that influence is continuing to this very day.
